Boschendal reaches new heights on Tim Atkin’s Special Report 2019

South Africa, 02 September 2019: In a diverse and vibrant South African wine scene, Boschendal has once again proven its excellence with 12 wines scoring more than 90 points each on this year’s prestigious Tim Atkin’s Special Report.

Boschendal Jean Le Long Prestige Cuvée MCC 2009 and Appellation Series Elgin Chardonnay 2017 scored 95 and 96 points, respectively. This is an outstanding result, with just 160 of the 2115 wines Atkin tasted this year receiving 95 points or more.

Jacques Viljoen, Boschendal Cellar Master, says, “Tim Atkin sets a strong industry benchmark and it’s an honour to have so many of our wines scoring such excellent results.  Boschendal Appellation Series Elgin Chardonnay is one of our most-awarded wines to dates, and our Jean Le Long continues to delight and receive top accolades for its complex citrus flavours.”

Atkin says that wines awarded 90 points and more receive the equivalent of a Gold Medal, while wines scoring 95 points and more equate to Medals of Excellence.  Here’s the full list of top-scoring Boschendal wines:
