Top trends for Autumn 2019 with Anuell Ahmar

As we edge closer to autumn, we invited Style me Strauss Editor-In-Chief Anuell Ahmar to share his autumn fashion trends with us so you can live your most stylish, inspired life this season. Of course, he shared these over a glass of his favourite Boschendal Chardonnay Pinot Noir!

“Florals were once a print you’d only think to wear between September and February, however, designers are keeping the pattern in bloom well into fall/winter in 2019. Florals of all kinds will be given an upgrade this autumn but wear them wisely and make sure you stay on the right side of chic,” says Anuell.

After a chilled sip of our awarded Chardonnay Pinot Noir, he continues to elaborate on other key trends this season: “Fashion and history often go hand-in-hand, trends tend to resurface and with elusive amendments to ensure their value to the modern appetite. After the resurgence of the ’70s and ’90s, the revival of the ’80s was bound to happen. Runways suggest that padded shoulders will play a pivotal role in fashion this season, having returned in several variations as fashion continues its love affair with the 1980s.”

“Layering is front and centre this season, showcasing both volume and texture in a masterful game of ‘more is more’. For beginners, sticking to the same tone but playing with different shades and textures is an excellent way to get the look. Also, keep towards neutral colours such as khaki, grey and black with subtle hints of metallics to give your outfit a glamorous highlight,” says the Style Me Strauss Editor-in-Chief.
